One of Kyoto’s largest markets at a UNESCO World Heritage site. The Kobo-ichi antique fair runs every 21st (800–1,200 stalls); the Garakuta-ichi junk market on the 1st Sunday. Hunt for vintage kimono and ceramics while your local guide helps you chat with vendors.

Kitano Tenmangu Market
Every 25th of the month, the grounds of Kitano Tenmangu shrine transform into a sprawling bazaar of antique kimono, pottery, and handmade crafts. Many say the quality here surpasses Toji. January and December markets are especially large.
