Immerse Yourself in the Quiet Kyoto Time: Seasonal Wagashi Making and Tea Ceremony Experience

Experience a special moment of tranquility, immersing yourself in the changing seasons and the profound depths of Japanese culture in a private Kyoto temple or a charming traditional machiya house.

In this experience, you will first enjoy making wagashi (Japanese sweets) using seasonal ingredients. Not only will you create these sweets, but you will also learn about the meanings behind their shapes, colors, and names.

Next, you will experience the gestures of the Japanese tea ceremony. For those who find sitting in seiza (traditional kneeling posture) difficult, we provide chairs so you can participate in a relaxed manner.

As an option, you can take home a complete set of tea ceremony tools (including a tray, tea bowl, tea whisk, and other essentials). It is our hope that this will give you an opportunity to enjoy tea ceremony moments at home as well.

Additionally, upon request, we can arrange a catered meal or bento box for you as an option.

Escape from the hustle and bustle of daily life and cleanse your senses in the quiet—come and experience this luxurious Kyoto time.
